Reverend, Dorry Newcomer

A newcomer to our staff, Rev. Dorry Newcomer has been in ministry for eighteen years.  She loves helping churches
create a culture where everyone knows they are loved by God and gifted for ministry.  She enjoys working with people of all ages, helping them to connect to God’s goodness and work in their lives. Dorry is a graduate of Palmer Seminary of Eastern University.  She also has degrees from Grove City College (BA) and Temple University (MBA).  She and her husband Phil met at Grove City and have been blessed with two children, both grown and married now, and one grandchild.  In her free time, Dorry enjoys travel, music, and trying new recipes.

 

Ministry Director, Jean Graber

Jean lives with her husband, Rick, and has three adult children and four grandsons. Jean has worked in church ministry most of her life and loves it.  She enjoys working with the staff and volunteers who are dedicated to the ministries and missions at Jarrettown. She enjoys supporting the many current programs and also helping to start new programs.

If you would like to get involved in any of Jarrettown’s ministries or have a new idea, please don’t hesitate to contact her. Being involved in your church’s ministries is a great way to grow Spiritually with God, to build relationships with your church family and to find opportunities to do outreach and serve with others.

 

Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Lisa Durst-Hestnar

As Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Lisa’s goal is to always focus on enhancing the loving and spiritual environment for the children of Jarrettown United Methodist Church (JUMC).  She believes the left hand holds your faith in God and the right hand carries your creativity and purpose.  Together they encompass the strength to build a strong foundation for our lives and our children.

Her professional experience includes of over 25 years in the field of public relations and marketing, along with her current volunteer background in children’s programs with Our Lady of Mercy School in Maple Glen, Girls Scouts of America and MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) at JUMC. She graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in English and a certificate in Communication.  She also holds a certificate in Editing and a certificate of Frontline Leadership.

Lisa is a Philadelphia native – born and raised in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia.  She moved to Montgomery County over 15 years ago, and currently reside in Horsham with her husband Jon and daughter Meredith.

Youth Director, Derek Mancke

Derek grew up in Flourtown attending church his whole life. He now resides in Glenside and attends Jarrettown every Sunday! He graduated from Montgomery County Community College with an SRT (Sound Recording Technology) degree. He’s been working with younger kids for a few years now at the MOMentum care that is hosted here at the church. He loves working with the youth and sharing God’s word with them!

 

Music Ministry, Nolan Prochnau

Nolan served as the organist for 2 years at Holy Family Parish in Philadelphia. He recently graduated from West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in viola performance, also minoring in organ performance. In 2022, he formed the Brandywine String Quartet with music educators to perform both accessible and standard works of the quartet repertoire with a focus on music education. Nolan grew up in the music program at First Presbyterian Church in West Chester, taking part in the children’s choir, handbell choir, and constantly sharing his musical talents on the piano, viola, and organ. He is excited to start his master’s degree in viola performance this fall at Temple University.

 

Contemporary Worship Leader, Kelly Anlas

Kelly grew up attending Jarrettown Church. She is also a preschool teacher at Momentum Co-Working.

Kelly has enjoyed singing since she was little and has been playing guitar since her high school days. Being a part of a praise team has been a big part of her life for over 20 years. Worship brings her spiritual connection to God and to others, and her goal is to help people build a relationship with God through music and praise as well. She is excited to be a part of the hardworking team at Jarrettown Church and looks forward to seeing you in worship!

Admin Assistant, Wendy Hamilton

Wendy has been a member of Jarrettown Church, along with her family, since 1998.  In 2013 she joined the staff at Jarrettown UMC. She currently resides in Horsham and has 3 granddaughters. She has enjoyed the many challenges, working with the wonderful Jarrettown Staff and volunteers, and having the opportunity to grow closer to the Jarrettown congregation.

 

Visitation Ministry, Connie Damon

Those who have the gift of listening, caring and sharing are invited to join those of us who visit in homes and senior facilities where our members can benefit from our sharing monthly. Custodian, Mark Schwarz

Mark has been a long-time Methodist since growing up on the Main Line in Narberth. He and his family joined Jarrettown in 2000. He and his wife, Patti, have resided in Meadowbrook for over the past several years. Mark recently retired from his home repair & carpentry business. With this background, he has served on trustees for many years. He’s pleased to join the dedicated JUMC staff and looks forward to serving as maintenance supervisor. As Patti always says, “Mark is handy to have around!”

 

Technology Team, Jean Graber
