St Philip’s UMC in Kensington continues its Food Cupboard Ministry through the Pandemic! The mission of St. Philip’s church is to share with others the gift of God’s love through our service, compassion, witness and life together. We are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through word and deed, calling people to salvation in Christ and to live the tenets of Christian faith in love and service to others.
Jarrettown Church will be focusing on collecting donations for St. Philip’s UMC during the month of February. They would like us to concentrate on collecting Canned Tuna, Sardines & Salmon/ Chicken/Spam, Crackers, Juice, Cereal & Shelf Stable Milk
Thanks to the leadership of Brother George and Sister Elaine Cahlink and the support of longtime members such as Sister Elaine Rash and Brother John Douthit and the ever important financial aid from our partner church, Jarrettown UMC in Dresher, we have been able to continue providing healthy lunches to our neighbors in need. Covid-19 has impacted communities of essential workers and low-income communities at a high rate. The composition of our community has populations that are keenly affected such a low-income white, black and Latino households that must work in order to survive. Many are retired and alone. Our fellowship accompanies the lonely, gives them support and comfort. Even though we cannot assemble in our activities/dining room, we still meet our neighbors outside and share bags of food and prayer on the go! Please continue to support this vital ministry.
St. Philip’s Food Cupoard continues to need the following food items for the cupboard program:
Canned Fruits/Veggies/Tuna/Beef Stew, Cereal, PB&J, Mac & Cheese, Pasta Products
